Risk Factors for Mortality in Hospitalized Patients with COVID-19, Southwestern of Iran; a cross-sectional study

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a global health challenge with high transmission and mortality rates. This study aimed to identify prognosis factors of the risk death among hospitalized patients COVID-19 in Behbahan City, southwest Iran. Methods: In this study, information 800 admitted Shahidzadeh Hospital City Iran from March 20, 2020, Jan 2021, was investigated. Thereafter, demographic information, clinical symptoms, vital signs, pharmacotherapy, Laboratory findings patients' underlying diseases were extracted then recorded their medical records. Cox regression PH assumption used investigate death. Results: The present included Covid-19 mean age 57.51 ± 16.83 years old at time diagnosis. Accordingly, studied sample consisted 447 (55.8%) male 353 (44.1%) female patients. Based on analysis, variables (HR=1.04; 95% CI: 1.03-1.05; P<0.001), Cardiovascular Disease (HR=2.46; 1.63- 3.70; renal failure (HR=2.77; 1.43- 534; P<0.001) found be associated COVID-19. Discussion: According patient's diagnosis, cardiovascular disease, indicated main prognostic rate Identifying these can helpful timely intervention for care providers.
